1.0 SUBJECT
Western Red Cedar Roof-covering Systems.
2.0 DESCRIPTION
2.1 General:
Western red cedar shakes (non-preservative treated) and shingles are manufactured to comply with UBC Standards 15-3 and 15-4, respectively.
2.2 Installation:
Western red cedar shakes (non-preservative treated) and shingles are installed as prescribed in Table 15-B-2 of the 1997 Uniform Building CodeTM.
2.3 Identification:
Western red cedar shakes (non-preservative treated) (complying with UBC Standard 15-3) and shingles (complying with UBC Standard 15-4) are identified as shown in Figure 1 (page 3) respectively. The labels shall include one of the following brand names: Black Hawk, Green River or Scott Cedar.
3.0 EVIDENCE SUBMITTED
Quality control manual and label facsimiles.
4.0 FINDINGS
That the western red cedar shakes (non-preservative treated) and shingles manufactured by The Clarke Group Marketing, Inc., mills listed in this report comply with the 1997 Uniform Building CodeTM, subject to the following conditions:
4.1 The products are identified as noted in this report.
4.2 The products are manufactured by the listees noted in this report, with inspections by Quality Auditing Institute (AA-635).
4.3 The products are installed as stipulated in Section 2.2 of this report. This evaluation report is subject to reexamination in two years.
